Video content #
This video describes what happens during the migration from the old ‘e-act’ Autorespond system (version 5) to the new system (version 6), which will run on your own URL or subdomain. In the video we show the differences and similarities between the two systems and how the data is migrated.
The migration is carried out by us. You choose a moment for it yourself and we run the migration at that time. After the migration you can complete the final migration step yourself: checking the automations that have been generated for the new system. That way you immediately see which automations you have and you can make adjustments per automation if needed.
Besides this video, see the migration guide you can find here:
https://autorespond.nl/overstappen-naar-autorespond-6/
Important: The new Autorespond system has been built from the ground up, and a one-to-one migration with exactly the same functions and layout (for emails, forms, products and checkouts) is not possible. If elements have not come across or have a different layout, you will need to adjust and set them up manually as you want them.
The next important video and documentation is the step-by-step migration guide with go-live checklist
Structure of the video #
1. Getting started in the new environment 0:47
- First schedule a migration week at https://mijn.autorespond.nl/migratie/. We then set up an onboarding environment for you with the migration already carried out, so you can explore the new system and configure things as you want them.
- You receive from us the login details of your own unique onboarding environment with your company name (for example companyname.inwerker.dev).
- Explore the functions of the new system. You see the all-in-one system in the onboarding environment, but before your final switch you decide for yourself which modules you want to use.
2. Adjusting the default settings 2:21
As a first step, follow the onboarding course at https://mijn.autorespond.nl/community/course/inwerk-cursus/lessons, which takes you through all the basic functions and settings.
- Adjust the website settings, such as:
- Logo
- Layout of elements
- Homepage (for example from shop to a landing page with a form).
- Set up the default shop checkout.
3. Preparing forms and automations 3:12
- Create individual funnels for specific segments.
- Watch the videos in the community for an explanation of the new functions.
4. New terms used compared with the old system 4:08
- Understand the new terminology:
- Groups become ‘lists’.
- Free fields become ‘custom contact fields’.
- List managers become ‘forms’, and if they contain follow-up emails, separate automations are created for those. If there is more than one follow-up email in the list manager, it is transferred as an ‘email sequence’.
- Workflows become ‘automations’.
- The emails created in the old e-act Autorespond under the ‘Content’ menu are created in the new system as ‘email templates’ (menu CRM > Email templates). You can import those at any point you like in an automation or an email sequence.
- Mailings (such as newsletters) are called ‘campaigns’ in the new system (not mentioned in the video)
5. Importing automations 6:18
- Run the import of automations yourself so you can check for errors. Please note: we already do this step for you, but you do have to check yourself that everything is as you want it and then activate the automation yourself.
- Make sure all follow-up actions are set up correctly.
6. Transferring emails and templates 7:18
- Check the imported emails under CRM > Email templates.
- Check that all images and links are correct and check the merge tags you have set up (these are usually transferred correctly, but we recommend checking them).
7. Migrating products 9:34
- Check that all product settings have been transferred correctly.
- Hide products from visitors to your shop where needed. You can do that in bulk if you like.
8. Checking contacts and relations 12:41
- Check that unsubscribed contacts have been transferred correctly with the status ‘unsubscribed’ and consider deleting those contacts.
- Use this moment to clean up your contacts where needed.
9. Checking automations and workflows 30:24
- Check all imported automations and workflows. You can do this per automation by importing them one by one. During the import you go through a wizard that takes you past every step of that automation. After the import you see the complete automation and you can make further adjustments.
- Set the automation live once you have checked that everything is still configured as you want it.
10. Going live 42:28
- Check all settings and forms before going live.
- After going live on your own (sub)domain, you have to replace old e-act forms that are still on your website with the new iframe embed code. You can also link directly to the landing pages of the forms.
- Order links to the old e-act system or embedded shops also have to be replaced after going live with links to the sales funnels or products in the new system.
- After going live, your subscriptions are transferred as well. The next terms of those subscriptions are therefore sent through the new system. Direct debits also continue automatically, but we recommend checking this carefully yourself at first.
Tips #
- Make sure you go through all the steps carefully to avoid mistakes.
- Check all links and images in emails after the migration.
- Use the community videos to get up to speed faster.
- Document any changes you make during the migration for future reference.
