Now that sign-ups are coming in, let Autorespond take care of what follows. An automation consists of a starting point (a trigger) and the steps after it: send an email, wait, add a tag. You build it once; after that every new sign-up goes through it automatically.
Automations in Autorespond are based on FluentCRM, included in your package. Read the FluentCRM documentation
1. The trigger #
Go to CRM & Emails → Automations and create a new automation. Choose Form submitted as the trigger and select your sign-up form from step 5. That is the starting point closest to the sign-up.
2. The series #
- Straight away: a welcome email. Who you are, what the reader can expect, and deliver what you promised (the checklist, for example).
- Wait two days, then: your best tip or your most-read article.
- Wait three days, then: an invitation to the next step, such as an introductory call, your offer or your newsletter.
3. Test safely #
An automation in Draft does not run, so you test with an active automation. Temporarily set a test trigger, for example “Tag added: test”, and give that tag only to your own test contact. Check the emails with the preview. When everything works, set the trigger back to your form.
Done when #
- The automation is Active, with your form as the trigger.
- The three emails and the waits are in the right order.
- Your test contact has gone through the series (visible in the automation report).
